Scar therapy is a non-invasive method of treating scar tissue, adhesions and fibrosis by utilising specialised scar massage and fascial release techniques.

We work to integrate scar tissue with the body by increasing the flow of blood and lymph, and improving connective tissue flexibility and suppleness.

Scar therapy may help to:

  • Reduce pain.
  • Reduce numbness.
  • Reduce abnormal sensations eg itching, crawling under the skin, tingling.
  • Increase range of motion eg raising arms above head or bending knees.
  • Reduce pain that you might not consider to be associated with the scar
(eg low back pain with c-section scar.)
  • Support your body with healthy healing.

It can support people with all types of planned and unplanned scars including, but not limited to:

  • Joint replacements and reconstructions eg knee, hip, shoulder.
  • Cancer treatments eg mastectomy, lymph node removal, abdominal surgeries.
  • Placement and removal of medical devices eg ports, pacemakers, drains.
  • Abdominal surgeries eg c-sections, hernia repair, appendectomy.
  • Plastic and cosmetic surgeries eg tummy tuck, breast augmentation, skin grafts.
  • Burns.
